Where are the Honest people? Is honesty a dying trait? I am not referring to the judgemental/opinionated version of "honesty" that inhibits many to really make a deeper connection. I'm talking about a much more sincere level of honesty. A kind where we hold ourselves accountable for our own actions and shortcomings. I am a fairly happy person, with many interests and hobbies but find myself greatly missing people in my life who are truly honest. I want to build a life where I have people in it who can say things like, hey you know that comment you made the other day about such and such, well that really upset me and this is why. Or hey I really screwed up the other day when I did X and I am sorry. No attacking each other, just pure open discussion about emotions. Where people can really take a good look at themselves and see how their behavior is affecting those around them. I have been told many times I scare people off by being so incredibly open with the type of person I am, especially my own faults. I'm the first person to admit to making mistakes and apologizing without getting defensive. I have a really hard time grasping why the common response is to justify actions, good or bad. I'm seeking friendship with like minded people. I believe if I can connect with someone on this level, other factors as upbringing, age, marital status become irrelevant.
